Juab Title & Abstract Company (Juab Title) has been in existence for over 100 years. It has always had a very high reputation among abstract and title companies.

Juab Title, originally known as Juab County Abstract Company, was purchased by E.B. Sperry, a licensed abstractor, in the early 1930’s. Mr. Sperry was the Juab County Recorder at the time of purchase. He continued with both professions until both occupations required a full-time employee. Mr. Sperry retired as county recorder in 1936. He continued as the owner and abstractor for Juab County Abstract Company until his unexpected death in July of 1944.

E.B. Sperry’s son, K.J., was at the time of his father’s death, serving in the Air Force in Hawaii. After he was discharged from the service he became a licensed abstractor in 1945 and continued the family business. K.J. had an excellent reputation of being a competent and expert abstractor. Juab County Abstract Company was a sole proprietorship until 1987 when Mr. Sperry incorporated his business at the same time changing the name to Juab Title & Abstract Company. He died in May 1987 of A.L.S., more commonly known as Lou Gehrig’s disease.

At the present time, Juab Title & Abstract Company is owned by K.J. Sperry’s daughter-in-law, Mary Lou Sperry.

Mary Lou Sperry was trained by K.J. Sperry for eleven years prior to his passing. Her employment began first as a typist and then a short time later she became involved in title searching and escrows. She is licensed by the State of Utah Department of Insurance as both a title and escrow officer. She has over 30 years of experience in the title industry. Mary Lou’s sons, Mike and Paul, are employed at Juab Title. Both have their title and escrow licenses and are working to continue the family legacy.

Although, Juab Title & Abstract Company is a small business, it is financially sound and has an excellent reputation of doing good “deeds” as we utilize over 100 years of combined industry experience.
